Ray, Man (Emmanuel Radnitzky) (American/French, 1890-1976), Pour Eluard, color pochoir on Arches wove paper, signed and editioned XXIII/XXXI in pencil to lower margin, image 22 x 17.5 inches, full sheet 31.75 x 23.25 inches, in a Kulicke style welded corner frame 32 x 24 inches. Steve says: Man Ray has always been an idol of mine. Like him, I found my true self in the streets and hearts of Paris. Like him, I experimented with photography and art and Dada and Surrealism. Unlike him, I cannot be considered one of the founders of Modern Art, along with his friend Marcel Duchamp. But, I have worked with Marion Meyer, his art dealer, curator and friend and Francis Naumann, who has written books about him. Through them I have gained much insight into his prints, sculptures, drawings and paintings.
Image in good condition with a few faint scuffs in the blue areas near the center; margins lightly faded and creasing to the corners; old seller's blindstamp to lower right corner.
