Vertes, Marcel (French, 1895-1961), Dancing portfolio, Total of 7 plates: 6 (of 12) original lithographs plus the front cover, 1922, color lithos on paper, each one signed in pencil lower right, limited edition of 300, the front cover with an additional inscription from Vertes to the French art critic Maurice Raynal in ink at the lower right corners, sheets 22 x 15 inches, the cover is slightly larger at 24.5 x 17.75 inches, unframed. Exquisite Art Deco images of Parisian nightlife, including images of society men and women, Black musicians and dancers and couple in love. Published by Editions Pellet, Paris. // ALSO INCLUDES Dancing Dogs, a color litho by Vertes from the 1940s. Provenance: from the collection of the Philadelphia based art and book dealer Michael Kam.
