Snowden, attributed to Mary (American, b.1940), Dancers, 1962, oil on wood panel, unsigned, 14.5 x 17.5 inches, in a wood frame 22.25 x 25.5 inches. Exhibited in the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, 1962 Mid-Year Show, with remnants of the label on reverse. We believe that this is a very early work by the American artist Mary Snowden, who is identified on the label as Mary Ann Snowden. Snowden was born in Johnstown, PA, outside of Pittsburgh, which is only a two hour drive from Youngstown.
