Escher, Maurits Cornelis (Dutch, 1898-1972), Ascending and Descending, 1960, (Bool 435), lithograph, 14 x 11.3 inches [35.5 x 28.6 cm], pencil signed and numbered 47/52, framed. Provenance: Paul Schuster's Art Gallery, Cambridge, Mass.; purchased by a mid western collector from Paul Schuster's Gallery in 1965. A good pull from the stone with strong contrasts.
In very good condition with a small dot of pale foxing in the lower left margin, very pale mat stain around the image and hinged to the backing board with linen hinges; small areas of loss from previous hinging and small areas of tape residue.
