Califano, after Michael (Italian/American, 1889-1979), The Ignominy of the XXth Century, post card, 1934, reproduction of Califano's large scale painting depicting Adolf Hitler exiling Albert Einstein from Europe, 4 x 5.75 inches, with the quote "Neither hatred not persecution can stay the progress of science and civilization" on the reverse, not marked, written on or mailed. Califano sold these post cards to help raise money for Jewish refugees. As he once said, "Jews are my best friends here. They took care of my art and paid real money for it. I painted this picture as an expression of my feeling and sympathy for the Jewish people. Hitler must go to hell!" Rare.
