Bubash, Nick (American/Pittsburgh, 1949-2021) and Thom deVita (American/NYC, 1932-2018), Untitled Collage, 2014, mixed media on cardstock with newsprint, stamps and ink, gouache, colored pencil, and found printed images, deVita and Bubash signed in ink near center, dated at upper left edge, 22 x 12 inches, unframed. Includes portrait, deVita's iconic sword and snake tattoo flash hand drawn, newsprint includes article written on deVita. Bubash and deVita collaborated through the mail and in person on various tattoo, fine art and mail art projects over their-decades long friendship. deVita mentored Bubash in his early years, and any art by the pair of them rarely turns up for sale. Provenance: from the estate of the pioneering tattoo artist, fine artist and sculptor Nick Bubash, Pittsburgh, PA.
