Rockwell, Norman (American, 1894-1978), Ichabod Crane, undated , color lithograph on Arches wove paper, signed and marked A.P (artist's proof, aside from the regular edition of 200) in pencil to bottom margin, publisher's blindstamp to lower corners, image 22 x 10.75 inches, full sheet 25.5 x 19.5 inches, matted and framed 35.5 x 23.5 inches. One of Rockwell's most images, showing a pre-presidential Lincoln defending his clue, Duff Armstrong, during what would later be known as The Almanac Trial. The original image was for the February 10th, 1962 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. A powerful print connecting two major American figures.
