Von Fuehrer, Ottmar (Austrian/American, Western PA., 1900 - 1967), The Yellow Tree, 1948, gouache on paper, 5 x 4 inches, signed lower right, framed measuring 8.5 x 6.5 inches, Provenance: 1948 New Years Greeting to Andrey Avinoff his friend and colleague at the Carnegie Museum. The long-time staff artist at the Carnegie Institute, Ottmar Von Fuehrer was a muralist, landscapist, and portraitist born in Austria. He did numerous murals for the Carnegie Institute including many backgrounds for dioramas.
