Pair of French Hunting Scenes, oil on canvas, 18th or early 19th century, both 15.5 x 46.5 inches in matching wooden frames measuring 20.5 x 51.5 inches. Both scenes feature a female aristocrat on horseback surrounded by a retinue of dogs, hunters with spears and other nobleman; one piece features the hunting of a stag, the other a bear. Provenance: From the estate of Arthur B. de Saint Maurice, the great-grandson of the Hudson River School painter Regis Gignoux.
