Pair of antique walnut lady's and gentleman's armchairs. High square backs, acanthus motif elements, floral motif tacks, flat arms, in modern green velvet upholstery with gold trim, block and turned baluster-form arm and leg (front) supports. Cloven feet. Lady's chair 55.75 x 26.5 x 24.75 inches, gentleman's chair 56.75 x 29 x 24.75 inches. Provenance: Deaccessioned from a Pittsburgh, PA institution.
Condition
Wormholes. Upholstery torn in some areas. Gentleman's chair with sagging seat. Lady's chair with more significant pest damage to the corner of the rear right leg.
