Contis, Peter A. (Greek-American/Pittsburgh, 1890-1973), Roses in Vase, mid to late 20th century, gouache on board, signed at lower right. Sight 17 x 11.5 inches, matted, behind glass, and in a 25.5 x 19.75 inch wooden frame. Together with a copy of Byzantine Butterflies, The Folk Paintings of Peter Contis and Helen Contis, by David Lewis, 1996, the Overlook Press, Woodstock, NY. 9.75 x 9.75 inches. Provenance: From the collection of Rod A. Agras, grandson of Peter Contis and Helen Contis.
