Platinum sapphire and diamond ring. The medium blue sapphire is a natural, untreated, cushion cut sapphire (GIA report). Measurements of the stone are 9.43 x 7.13 x 6.44 and weight is 4.31 carats. The setting is hand-built platinum with three round, full cut diamonds set in prongs on each side of the sapphire and a fan of five tapered baguette diamonds at each corner of the sapphire. These baguettes are set in arched boxes with a scroll work gallery below. The sapphire is set in a partial bezel with openings above each cluster of round diamonds. The 12 full cut, round diamonds measure 2.05-2.25mm in diameter, approx. total weight of .52 carats. The twenty tapered baguettes are of various sizes 1-1.45 mm wide x 2.8mm long. The largest are 1.25-1.75mm wide x 3mm long. Approx. total weight for the baguetted is 1.00 carat. Quality for all diamonds is approx. F-G color and Vs-VVs clarity. The ring measures approx. 16mm in width. Size 5 1/2. Marked "10% irid plat. Approx. 12.1 grams.
