Irazabal, Prudencio (Spanish, b. 1954), Untitled 709, 1995, acrylic on canvas, laid down over wood panel, signed, titled and dated on the reverse, 36 inches square, unframed. Provenance: Jack Shainman Gallery, New York, New York; Collection of David and Clemmer Montague (acquired directly from the above in 1995); Private Collection, Western Pennsylvania. Publication: mentioned in the 1996 review by Barry Schwabsky of the Shainman Gallery show in Artforum as having "pure and intense effects."
