Falls, after Frederic, American Iron & Steel Works of Jones and Laughlin Steel Company, c.1890s, photogravure on paper, printed by Goupil, Paris for The Contemporary Art Company, Philadelphia, image 16 x 33.5 inches, sheet 27.75 x 44 inches. A rare, striking and highly detailed image of the famous J&L steel plant, the Monongahela River, and the Hot Metal Bridge that connected the plant to the blast furnaces on the other side of the river.
A sharp image with a few faint vertical bands of browning; dampstaining visible to bottom corners (does not affect the image), and some overall toning and chipping along the edges.
