(American Art, Edith Halpert), What is Wrong With This Picture?, exhibition May 6 to May 30, 1941, fold out poster for a show at Edith Halpert's Downtown Gallery, features the work of Charles Sheeler, Niles Spencer, Katherine Schmidt, Peter Blume, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Julian Levi and Bernard Karfiol, single sheet folded to make panels, 15.25 x 17.75 fully opened. A rare poster. Notable for showcasing Halpert's maverick streak as a gallerist - she wasn't afraid to double down on her convictions despite these paintings having previously gone unsold in countless exhibitions.
