Armstrong, John (ed.), The Franklin Magazine Almanac, for the Year of Our Lord 1819-1823, bound volume of the first five annual issues, Eichbaum and Johnston, Pittsburgh, hardcover, 12mo., contemporary leather-backed boards, gilt title label, marbled endpapers, each year is 72 pages, few illustrations, including a nice woodcut of the Zodiac toward the beginning of most issues. Most notable is the 22 page entry in the 1820 issue titled View of Pittsburgh which offers a historical and topical summary of the city. Rare on the market and in institutions.

Condition

Small section removed from the top edge of the first title page; few other small tears throughout; otherwise in good condition, with normal signs of age, secure binding.
