Extensive biography of the artist written on the verso, including a note that this painting was from the collection of A. C. Riley, Pittsburgh. Simboli, who was only 22 when he painted this, studied at Carnegie Tech under Arthur Watson Sparks, was in 5 versions of the Carnegie International, was a member of the Associated Artist of Pittsburgh (AAP) and had a 1965 retrospective at the Westmoreland Museum of Art.
