Gignoux, Regis (French/American, Hudson River School, 1816-1882), Group of 2 Paintings of Pastures in The French Seaside, c.1875, watercolors on paper, both unsigned, both 9.75 x 13.5 inches, matted and framed 16 x 19.5 and 16.5 x 20 inches. The French countryside, especially in Normandy and Brittany, was a popular subject for Gignoux following his return to his native country in 1870. Provenance: From the estate of Arthur B. de Saint Maurice, the great-grandson of Regis Gignoux.
