Signed copies of this book are exceptionally rare, as Farina died in a motorcycle crash shortly after attending the book's release party on April 30, 1966. This lot also includes two laid-in newspaper scraps: one from the April 27, 1966 issue of the Carmel Valley Outlook advertising the release party of the book at the Thunderbird Shop, and the other an obituary of Farina by Stan Cloud from an unknown California newspaper. Provenance: from the estate of the folk art dealer Virginia Freeman, who lived in California in the 1960s and later opened the Virginia Freeman Art Gallery in Destin, Florida.
