Canvas 8 x 10 inches, linen lined wooden frame 10.25 x 12.5 inches. Bio from the artist's website: A resident of Western Pennsylvania, Rita K. Haldeman has been painting since childhood. After receiving a B.A. in art from The Pennsylvania State University, she pursued graduate studies at the Vermont Studio School and Colony, and also studied at the Cape School of Art in Cape Cod. Having a strong interest in the environment, she also attended the Artists for the Environment Program at the Delaware Water Gap through the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Haldeman’s awards include First Prize at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, First Prize in the St. Vincent College Monastery Run Competition, and the Landscape Award at the Arts for the Parks exhibition in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She also was selected to paint two limited edition prints for the Loyalhanna Watershed Association and was given their 2013 Citizen of the Year Award. Haldeman is currently a directory artist with the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for the Artist-in-Residence program, and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association and the Pittsburgh Pastel Artist League. The artist has taught adult education classes and workshops and has lectured on her work. Her paintings are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and are represented by a number of galleries, including G-Squared Gallery in Ligonier, PA; Gibson's at The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, WV; Bishop’s Stock in Snow Hill, MD.
