Griffing, Robert B. (American, born 1940), Unconquered, offset lithograph, 15.5 x 25.5 inches, signed in gold ink lower right, framed measuring 23 x 33 inches, With Pontiac's war behind them, three defiant Mingo warriors look down on the British strong house known as Fort Pitt. The area is now open to trade, but peace will be short lived as hundreds of settlers pour into the great interior. This is Griffing's first print of the point at Pittsburgh, set back in 1765.
