Russian Malachite Table Cigar Box with Faberge silver double-headed eagle by Ruckert and interior copper relief of "The Slaughter of Penelope's Suitors by Odysseus and Telemachus" after an illustration by Fedor Tolstoy (Fyodor Ivanovich Tolstoj) for Homer's classic epic, c.1890, 4 x 9.75 x 6 inches, image inscribed in Cyrillic at lower right "Work of Count Feodor Tolstoy 1820," double-headed eagle hallmarked on right wing with the initials, in Cyrillic, of Faberge silversmith Feodor Ruckert and "88" which corresponds to a modern silver purity of .916, Faberge was famous for only using 88 silver. Total weight: 10.5 pounds (4.75 kg).
