(Fine Bindings), The Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, Oxford, UK, c. 1930s, rebound in full copper morocco leather binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, London, with their gilt stamp to the front dentelle, raised bands, gilt title, aeg, from the collection of Katherine Jones Aiken Reed, with Kate Jones Reed also stamped in gilt to the dentelle. Housed in matching cloth slipcase. Kate Reed was the husband of James Hay Reed, a personal friend and close advisor to Andrew Carnegie who started the law firm that is now known as Reed Smith. Kate and James' son, David Aiken Reed represented Pennsylvania in the United States Senate from 1922 to 1935. In Fair to Good condition, front outer hinge dry and starting to show separation, but for now still securely attached; small scuff to leather on front board, spine faded and scratched, clean contents.
