Sasajima, Kihei (Japanese, 1906-1993), Mythical Warrior, 1962, woodcut on thin paper, signed, dated, titled (in Japanese) and numbered 6/50 in pencil to bottom, artist's red chop at lower left, image 23.75 x 17.5 inches, full sheet 26 x 20 inches, unframed. A striking image, foreshadowing the anime aesthetic.
