Bustamante, Sergio and Melquiades Preciado (i.e., SerMel), Papier mache swan sculpture, Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico, late 20th century. Large crane sculpted from papier mache. Hand painted in shades of orange with black line details over a light yellow ground. Inscribed 'Sermel Tonala Jal. Mexico' above one wing. 29 x 22 x 14 inches. The Sermel workshop was founded in 1963 by Sergio Bustamante and Melquiades Preciado.
