Stirbu, Stefan (Romanian, b. 1939), Pomul Vietii Si Intelepciunii [The Tree of Life and Wisdom], 1971, oil on wood panel, signed SS and dated to bottom center, additionally signed, titled (in Romanaian and French, L'Arbre de la Vie et de Sagess) and dated on the verso, image size 14 x 10 inches, frame size 15.25 x 11.25 inches. Old Romanian gallery label from the Fondul Plastic Din RSR affixed to the verso. A Romanian folk painting with vignettes on the sides and names of famous artist and thinkers on the tree leaves and roots.
