Tall Federal style cherry case clock, painted iron dial by John Whitehead (1791-1875), Woodbury, New Jersey, c.1820. Overall measurements 91 x 19 x 10 inches. Old inscription on the inside appears to read Carl ---iffer 1820. Replaced works. Includes 2 lead weights, pendulum and winding key. An early Whitehead dial, made in the year before he moved to Haddonfield, NJ. In good antique condition, with cosmetic issues to the veneer; not tested; lacks finial and key for body and hood.
