Dreiser, Theodore, Sister Carrie, 1900, First edition, published by Doubleday, Page and Co., hardcover, original red cloth, 8 x 5.5 inches, housed in a matching slipcase.
In fair to good condition, a sturdy copy; cloth dulled and edgeworn; corners worn through; fading to spine; both inner hinges starting and with some webbing showing, but secure; 1901 gift inscription to front pastedown; creasing to top corner of first 10 leaves; text primarily clean, with occasional finger soil to the margins and a few stray ink or pencil marks.
