Prisland, Theodore (American/Chicago/Wisconsin, 20th century), Untitled Abstract, mixed media on artist's board, 1940s, signed upper left and name tag on the verso, 12.75 x 10 inches, unframed. Not much is available online about the artist, but he did show at the 1940 Wisconsin Salon of Art and was listed in the 1999 edition of Who Was Who in American Art, 1564-1975 (Falk). He also was apparently an art instructor in Beloit. Provenance: collection of Robert Hagenhofer, a graphic designer who attended the Chicago Institute of Design in the late 1940s following a stint as a soldier in World War II.
