Tuer, Andrew W., The History of the Horn-Book, complete in 2 volumes, 1896, First Edition, London, Leadenhall Press, hardcover, deluxe full vellum binding with gilt titles and leather labels, illustrated throughout including hand-colored title page vignette in each volume. This set is complete with all 7 facsimile horn-books and battledores present, housed in the compartments at front, also with publisher's original announcement telling the buyer that the books "should be kept away from the fire and under a weight" to help the vellum boards set. Provenance: From the collection of the Twentieth Century Club, Pittsburgh, PA with their small bookplate to both front pastedowns.
