Hampton, after Michael, two dance production posters (duplicates), lithograph, "City Center of Music and Drama, Inc. Presents the Alvin Ailey City Center Dance Theater Three Weeks May 14 to June 2, 1974”, printed "Artist: Michael Hampton, Copyright Dance Theater foundation, Inc., A Contemporary Poster Classic, Distributed exclusively by Darien House, Inc., New York City, Printed in USA" at bottom margin. Unframed, 41 x 27 inches. Based off of African textile motifs, Hampton created this design for an appearance of the visionary Alvin Ailey modern dance troupe at New York’s City Center.
One with light abrasion marks, worn corners. One with minor ink and paper loss at lower right, worn edges and corners.
