Nesbert, Vincent (Polish/American, 1898-1976), At The Piano, 1942, oil on canvas, signed lower right, 34 x 44 inches, in the artist's original carved wood frame 38 x 48 inches. Exhibited in the Associated Artist of Pittsburgh 32nd Annual Exhibition, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, February 12-March 12, 1942, with 2 original labels on the reverse. Provenance: from the collection of one the models. Vincent Nesbert was born in Telechany, Poland and immigrated to Pittsburgh in the mid 1910s. He joined the faculty of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in August 1928, and later served as dean for many years.
