Nesbert, Vincent (Polish/American, 1898-1976), Portrait of a Man, c.1940s, pastel on paper, signed lower right corner, sheet 22.5 x 15.25 inches, hinged to a backing board with window mat. Provenance: acquired directly from the artist's estate. Vincent Nesbert was born in Telechany, Poland and immigrated to Pittsburgh in the mid 1910s. He joined the faculty of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in August 1928, and later served as dean for many years. In good condition, with some wear to the corners and edges of the sheet.
