Evans, Walker, American Photographs, with an essay by Lincoln Kirstein, 1938, one of 5000 copies published by the Museum of Modern Art and printed at the Spiral Press, hardcover, spine label, 87 black and white photos. Old newspaper clipping of a review of the book by William Carlos Williams has been tipped-in to a rear blank. Catalog of a major exhibition at MoMA, the first photography show there by a single artist.


In good condition, former owner's signature to fly leaf, fraying to spine ends and corners, small chips to labels, light handling and rubbing to the exterior.
