Wang Yin (Chinese, b.1964), Portrait of Young Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn from the Soviet Series, 2004, oil and digital print on canvas, signed in Chinese and dated on the verso, 21 x 14.5 inches, in a painted wood floater frame 23 x 16.5 inches. Provenance: Michael Berger Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA. Wang Yin established a studio in Songzhuang in 1998 and has continued his practice and research there to this day. His foundational training was in the Soviet painting tradition - which was impressed upon him by his father.
