Widdicomb-Mueller aluminum and wood side chair, USA, Michigan, 1950s. Sculptural aluminum frame, red vinyl seat, and shaped wooden back rest. Widdicomb-Mueller label at underside. Together with a The General Fireproofing Company aluminum and red upholstered side chair. Appropriate labels at underside. 30.5 x 22.5 x 21.5 inches, 31 x 16 x 17.5 inches. Provenance: The personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski. Ed was co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg. He was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
