Kirkpatrick, William Arbor-Brown (English/American Born 1880), Portrait of Marion Powers, (Wife of the artist), circa 1915, oil on canvas, 30 x 22 inches, signed lower left, Provenance: Serge Liros, Blue Hill , Maine; The Estate of Joan Frank Apt, Pittsburgh, Pa.; framed in a gilded hand carved Arts and Crafts frame measuring 36 x 28 inches, William A. Kirkpatrick was a prominent Boston artist, born in London, England. His mother was an American. He studied in London at the City Guilds and in Paris. He exhibited at the Paris Salon before coming to the United States. He did calendar paintings for the Gerlach Barklow Company. Some of his calendar paintings depicted World War One Soldiers.
