Faulkner, William, The Hamlet, 1940, First edition, Random House, hardcover in a first issue dust jacket with 'A Notable List' of books on the rear panel and printed price of 2.50, measures 8.25 x 5.75 inches, DJ in mylar. The first book in Faulkner's famous Snopes trilogy. DJ and title page designed by George Salter; TOGETHER WITH a second copy, also first issue in dust jacket, but in significantly worse condition.
Very Good in a Good dust jacket, sound binding, clean contents, minor bumping to the tips; DJ with shallow loss to corners and spine ends, one pinhole at top of spine, overall light rubbing, soil and fading. Second copy fair in fair dust jacket, tearing and water staining. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
