Zeljko, Kujundzic (British Columbia, Canada/Yugoslavia, 1920-2003), Abstracted Figure, mid 20th century, sculpted ceramic tiles on shaped wood backing board. Sizeable wall sculpture with portions in high relief. Incised signature in one area. Approximately 69 x 51 x 4.5 inches. Kuhundzic was a painter, ceramicist, metal worker, and educator. He studied Fine Art in Venice, Italy, received his BFA from the Royal College of Art Budapest, Hungary, his MFA from the University of Budapest Fine Arts Department, Hungary, received a postgraduate teaching certificate, and studied bronze casting at the Johnson Atelier Sculpture Center in Princeton, New Jersey. He exhibited extensively worldwide in both solo and group shows. His pieces are part of numerous private, public, and corporate art collections, including the Swiss National Museum and the Kyoto National Museum and Art Gallery, among many others. Kujundzic received multiple awards for his work over the years. He had over fifty years of experience lecturing, leading workshops, and teaching internationally in Scotland, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Japan and USA.
