18th century British Portraiture School, c.1750, oil on canvas, relined, apparently unsigned, 49 x 40 inches, in a gold painted wood frame 52 x 43 inches. Old handwritten label attributing the painting to Allan Ramsay (British/Scottish, 1713-1784) as a Portrait of Lady Jane Douglas taped to the verso. Also with 2 dried up wax seals and a handwritten name on the back of the frame that appears to say J. Singleton and Tomshill.
