19th century Portrait School, British or American, Portrait of a Lady With Prayer Book, early to mid 19th century, oil on canvas, since relined, unsigned, 30 x 25 inches, in a wood frame 33 x 28 inches. Shows some stylistically British elements, but also similar to the portraits made by the American painter John H. Keeley (aka Isaac Keeley) in Massachusetts from the 1850s-1860s.
