2 books on Catholic Art in Mexico from the collection of Cardinal Luigi Raimondi, includes: 1. Historia del Templo de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, 1953, copy number 1 from the standard edition of 300, hardcover, leather, 4to., Spanish text, black and white illustrations, lengthy ink inscription on the front blank gifting the book to Cardinal Raimondi; 2. Fr. Manuel Rangel Camacho, IV Centenario de Nuestra Senora de Guanajuato, 1968, lengthy inscription on the title page from the author to Cardinal Raimondi, and also signed by the publisher Manuel Quesada Brandi, hardcover, 4to., brown leather, illustrated in color and black and white. Provenance: from the collection of Cardinal Luigi Raimondi (1912-1975), an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as prefect of the Vatican's Congregation for the Causes of Saints from his elevation to the cardinalate by Pope Paul VI in 1973 until his death two years later. Raimondi also served as the Apostolic Delegate to the United States from 1967 until his appointment to the Vatican post in Rome.
