Spanish Renaissance style mahogany vargueno writing desk, 20th century. Highly-carved locking drop front desk with forged metal escutcheon and applied elements, center rosette flanked by chevron. Green Man mascarons at each side over four fluted and turned legs terminating in paw feet, with barley twist supports and arcaded stretcher. Sliding doors at rear allow access to interior, which has one partition. 36.5 x 20.5 x 12 inches.
The key is missing, therefore the drop front cannot be released. Scratches at top surface, usage related wear.
