Group of 25 stereoviews, 3 show the aftermath of the 1871 Chicago Fire and the other 22 are from a set showing the effects of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. 2 Chicago views by W. S. Wheeler, the other by W. D. Fay, a crumpled building, a view of Michigan St. from Dearborn St and a few houses on a hillside. SF views from a set of 25 (our lacking #s 6, 9 and 22), housed in original cardboard box, with many images of refugee camps, one titled "True Grit" showing a barber painting his sign on his temporary store, i.e., a tent, ruins of a synagogue on Sutter St, ruins of the Fairmont Hotel, cops guarding exposed bank safes, City Hall and others.
