Jackson, A. Y. (Alexander Young) (Canadian, 1882-1974), Madawaska River, 1961, oil on board, signed lower right and titled, dated and signed on the verso, 10.5 x 13.5 inches, framed 18.5 x 21.5 inches. Jackson studied in CHicago and PAris in the early 20th century, before becoming one of the founding members of The Group of Seven. The Madawaska River, a tributary of the Ottawa River, was one of Jackson's favorite settings to paint. Provenance: The Art Lenders, Montreal (label attached to the back of the frame); Reginald C.
