Hiebel, Adelaide (American, 1885-1965), Young Girl with Her Horse, c.1930s, oil on canvas, signed lower left, 32 x 26 inches, framed 36 x 30 inches. Hiebel made illustration art primarily for art calendars produced by the Gerlach Barklow Co. in Joliet, Illinois. The model was named Jeanne Gehrmann. Provenance: Personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.

Condition

In fair condition, with a puncture near the bottom edge, a general layer of surface grime, scuffed area at upper left corner, and stress marks along the perimeter from the stretcher bars.
