Initialed G. T. H., possibly a very early work by George T. Hetzel (American/Western PA, 1846-1912), Coastal Seascape with Figures, 1864, oil on canvas, relined, incised G. T. H. 64 lower left, 12 x 16 inches, in a gilt frame 19 x 22 inches. Provenance: Walter Family, Pittsburgh, PA. George T. Hetzel was the nephew of George Hetzel, Pittsburgh's best known 19th century painter. He was raised in the Spring Hill section of Pittsburgh and was at one point the deputy recorder for Allegheny County in Western Pennsylvania.
