Warhol, Andy, Andy Warhol's Index Book, 1967, first printing, softcover, original wraps, Black Star Books / Random House, compete with all 10 elements present: pop-up castle, paper accordion (still squeaks!); pop-up airplane; Chelsea Girls paper disc with spring (all present, but no longer attached to the spring; folded paper dome with Malanga's chest (tabs and pages housing this have been opened, with some loss); flexi-disc with portrait of Lou Reed, which plays a Nico conversation and unrecorded song by Nico and the Velvet Underground; colorful fold out nose; Hunt's Tomato Paste can; tipped-in blotter page to be placed in water; and a balloon that has disintegrated and now fuses the two pages together (this is present in virtually every single copy of this book). One of the great 20th century artist's books. Also includes photos of Warhol's superstars Edie Sedgwick, Gerard Malanga and the Velvets. Provenance: The Estate of Wendi A. Miller, Pittsburgh, owner of Miller Frame in East Liberty.

Condition

In good condition, covers lightly rubbed and scratched; sound binding; defects to elements and adjacent pages listed in the description field.
