19th century engraving, Portrait of The Marquis de La Fayette, on cream laid-paper, appears to be signed in the plate I Robull and F Gouda or something similar, image size 3.25 x 2.5 inches, sheet size 8.5 x 6.5 inches, unframed. A seemingly rare image of everyone’s favorite fighting Frenchman. Provenance: the personal collection of Gary S. Grimes, Pittsburgh. Gary was an expert on Western Pennsylvania art, and especially the Scalp Level painters.
