A Bryer and Son two-day marine chronometer in an ebony wood three-part case with brass inlays, gryphon in shield inlay at top surface, upper button release, lock with key to lower portion fitted with recessed campaign handles. Includes a tipsy key. Together with a 20th century housing box which can be mounted to a ship's dashboard. Mother of pearl plaque at front reads -- Bryer and Son, 53 and 54, Barbican, London, No 3146. Ebony box 7.75 x 7 x 7.25 inches, mounting box 10.25 x 12.5 x 10.75 inches.
